Normally, the winter months are a pretty slow time in the real estate business.  While the weather has been cold outside this year, the real estate market has been getting hotter and hotter.

Southport is a coastal North Carolina city with a very interesting history attached to it. It was one of the first cities to celebrate our independence day, and it is thus known as the 4^th of July capital of North Carolina. People gathered at Fort Johnson and gave a 13 gun salute to the 13 states. It was here that fireworks were used for the time to celebrate the 4^th of July. Southport is major attraction for many history buffs. Its unique location (convergence of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Cape Fear River) gives it a prime attraction for beach lovers too. The county seat of Brunswick County, the town of Bolivia is home to less than 150 residents with 91% of Bolivia NC real estate owner occupied.  With three golf courses in the area, the town of Bolivia is prime for adults and retirees.  Despite the small population, Bolivia is not an isolated area. In Bolivia’s neighboring city, Southport, boasting seven more golf courses to choose from.  Although a higher popluation than Bolivia, Southport is still a small town as it is home to less than 2,500 residents.
